Re: Having applications open on the 'launcher' workspace

Well apparently from what I've been reading, and going through the code,
this should already be working, and applications should be appearing on
the workspace active at launch
(http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-list/2003-May/msg00060.html).
Somehow it doesn't work on my Ximian unstable desktop so I have a couple
of questions:
1- What are other people seeing? on what workspace do apps launch?
2- Shouldn't all panel launchers be generating at least some basic
startup notification events (including workspace info) even if the
launchee application doesn't support it? I'm not seeing any notification
with some launchers.

Oh and when logging in as root, I'm able to launch an app on a different
workspace using test-launcher in the startup-notification CVS module.
This doesn't work otherwise.
I'd be interested in feedback/explanations on this.

Regards,
Antoine
