Aterm would need to be modified to set the appropriate property on its
window (_NET_WM_ICON). This is documented here:
http://standards.freedesktop.org/wm-spec/latest/ar01s05.html#id2523483
I don't think there is a way a user can assign custom icons to
applications in the task list, unfortunately.
