I was trying to install gdl on a RedHat 7.0/Redcarpeted machine in
preparation for installing gIDE and stumbled across something fishy.
I got the error "You need Bonobo 1.0.7 or higher to build GDL".
I knew I had 1.0.7 Bonobo, but autogen.sh couldn't see it. It turns out
gnome-config is looking for the file bonoboConf.sh. This file is in the
Redhat "rawhide" version of bonobo, but MISSING FROM XIMIAN'S.
I was able to work around this problem.
I got bonobo-1.0.7-1.i386.rpm from the "rawhide/i386/RedHat/RPMS" directory
of VALinux's Redhat mirror, then get bonobo-1.0.7-ximian.1.i386.rpm from
ftp.ximian.com, directory "/pub/ximian-gnome/redhat-70-i386". I installed
Redhat's bonobo and then immediately installed Ximian's over the top of it.
# rpm -ivh --nodeps --force bonobo-1.0.7-1.i386.rpm
# rpm -ivh --force bonobo-1.0.7-ximian.1.i386.rpm
Should I report this as a bug, and if so to whom?
