well, I do not think this is really a problem. As for me (I'm doing
Russian translation), I just decided that I am translating user-guide
as of March 1. So, I am not worried that there are newer versions at
CVS right now - in fact, I think it is good that it updates that
frequently. When I finish translation, I'll release it - so the users
will have English original, say, 1.0.5, and Russian translation of
1.0. In my opinion, it is OK. In fact, the docs are not always 100% in
sync with the new features of the programs themselves - it also OK as
long as the delay is reasonable.

And only after I have completed a translation of eralier version, I'll
start updating. Since updating takes less time than the first
translation, I think it is realistic to set a goal of having the
translation lag, say, 2 weeks behind the original. But do not hope to
have a set date on which GNOME *.* will be released with all the docs
and translations *perfectly* in sync with each other and the programs
themselves - IMHO, it is not going to happen.

   Hi all,

   I've been working on the Gnome User Guide for while doing the italian translation, but I'm getting crazy.

   Keeping the docs on the CVS is a very good thing, the document'll be always in sync with the software, but I's quite a problem with the translation. I can't release something because I'm always updating it.

   We need a "freeze" also for the docs, otherwise it'll be very difficult to work on translation.

   What can we do for it ?
