Help with xmllint

I have upgraded my system to RedHat 7.2, installed gcc3, and run
/sbin/ldconfig.

I am still getting the following error when I try to run xmllint:

xmllint: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GCC_3.0' not found (required by xmllint)
xmllint: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GCC_3.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libxml2.so.2)

Could someone please tell me what I need to do to get the new Docbook
tools to work correctly?
