Just noticed: I didn't include a </menuchoice> closing tag in the example,
so the string should be:
"To start a new game, choose:
<menuchoice>
<guimenu>Game</guimenu>
<guimenuitem>New game</guimenuitem>
</menuchoice>."

If a menu name is on the menubar of an application, then I would recommend
using the <guimenu> tag. Thus: <guimenu>Game</guimenu>. I would then use
the <guimenuitem> tag for the contents of the menu. You should also be
aware of the <menuchoice> tag in these circumstances. For example:
"To start a new game, choose:
<menuchoice><guimenu>Game</guimenu><guimenuitem>New game</guimenuitem>."
