Hi Will,
I've added my comments to the post.
Please let me know if you need me to clarify o explain something in more detail.

Hi,
(Please excuse this email in English – I don't speak Spanish.)
I've recently become responsible for maintaining Endless's downstream translations. In Endless, whose Spanish-speaking users are mainly in Latin America, we have historically modified the Spanish translation downstream to use “tú” rather than “usted”, which appears to be what GNOME's Spanish translation uses. I'd like to see whether we can stop doing this, while still showing correct strings for users' dialects of Spanish. I started a thread about this on Discourse
https://discourse.gnome.org/t/tu-usted-in-spanish-translations/748 – please could you let me know if you have any suggestions?
