I always find myself dragging with the right mousebutton, this produces a pop-up
selection of what type of drag you just made. MacOs has a different approach to do
with holding down combinations of the APPLE. CTRL or SHIFT keys, though the icon
being dragged does not change enough or at all. Adobe's photoshop does this quite
well with the magic wand tool..

Microsoft seems to have keyboard techniques.. but a little perplexing

If you right-click to drag, a menu appears with the available options.
If you drag a file or a folder to a location on the same disk, it will be moved. If
you drag it to another disk, it will be copied.
You can create a copy of a file and move it at the same time by pressing CTRL while
you drag the file to a new location.

What? so does it copy it or move it and then make a copy in the same place is has
moved it to?
