Tabbed pane switching

X-Chat has the ultimately cool feature of having Alt-[ 1..n ] acting as
a hot key for switching to the n tab. No other apps using a tabbed pane
seem to have this. It seems to me that this should be an automatic
function. Do others agree? I believe the widget is a GTK+ notebook so I
guess I'd probably need to propose this on a gtk list, but I'm curious
whether others see this as a good idea.
