This discussion is turning silly. We HAVE to continue to support the old
submission format until gnome-1.2 is dead and gone. Ie 5 years.

Unless you have volunteers to read every bug, you cant and you need an
automated transfer process or to leave the old system as is but not taking
new bugs (divert those through a reformatter to bugzilla)
