I don't think that the problem we have is hardware, we have
managed to fix the hardware problems/ugrades all right.
I think that the problem we have is that we have not
defined who is going to do a particular sysadmin task.
And also who is going to do the special/random sysadmin
tasks that should not happen.
So if we don't want a full time sysadmin i would propose
that we at least define and set responsibilities for each
task and a commitment from someone who is going to do them.
I would like to know who should be contacted for :
- a cvs lock
- cvs surgery
- password changes
- gnotices beeing down
- cvs accounts (we haven't really fixed the cvs accounts thing,
we talked about it but didn't got anywhere with it)
althou none of this items should happen, the reality is that
they do happen.
