But those pages are generated from the
source by pure mechanical processing (C comments -> SGML -> HTML) like
most of the GTK/GNOME API documentations. I don't see a good logical
reason to put what is simply a derived object from the source code under
a different (and potentially conflicting) Licence than the original product.
That point has some logic in it. At the same time, it is very useful
for this documentation to be available under a GFDL-compatible license
so that people can merge text from it into manuals they are writing
under the GFDL. For this reason, it can in fact be a good idea
to release the derived documentation under a license different from
the source code.
