if you are building in a chroot which needs to go away after the build,
it is a bit of a problem (at least theoretically -- i could see it being
a problem for tinderbox if that's how it's doing things).

it's only really a problem when you are building packages, i think.
since there might be a user running as root they would need the call to
go through gconfd, right?
