Agreed.
Let me be clear about this. A solution to this problem is critical.
What form the configuration takes and where ever it lives is not
crucial. However, gnome applications need to be able to rely on it
existing in a common form across the gnome platform. XST certainly
sounds like a good approach, but to be useful it should be part of
gnome-core to ensure that it is always there.
