That still doesn't solve the problem at hand, which is 'Wayne wants to
support gfoo 1.4, Ximian/Sun wants to support gfoo 2.0, and 1337 H8X0R X
wants to support gfoo 2.2.' You can replace 1.4, 2.0 and 2.2 with
whatever version strings you want, but however you slice it, Wayne,
$VENDOR, and $H*X0R are all still getting each others bug mail. And
hacking bugzilla to solve that is... well, it would be a fun hack. But
you guys might not see me and/or DaveF for a while, and the resultant UI
would just get worse.

There was a pretty long discussion on the general concept of 'GNOME
Version' this in late January or February, which resulted in some
blessed soul putting in:
/usr/share/gnome-about/gnome-version.xml
I'd really, really like to see bug-buddy read and report /all/ this
data, and I'd like to see all the vendors updating it in their packages,
esp. vendor string (which would make finding vendor-patch crashes much,
much easier.)
