Yes ;-( Still waiting for LSB settle down. On SuSE Linux (up till 8.0)
/etc/xml/catalog is just "missing".
I'm just starting to implement this feature. You can find unofficial
update/upgrade packages at
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/ke/8.0-i386/
It's a moving target -- if you've some time to spend please give it a
try and report problems directly to me (next week I'll continue to work
on these packages).

Thanks for the offer. On SuSE Linux you will find the SGML catalog
files for XML DTDs here (module bugs):
/usr/share/sgml/CATALOG.*xml
And the DocBook stylessheets are here:
/usr/share/sgml/docbook/
It's on my to-do to write a shell script to feed /etc/xml/catalog
properly for 8.0, 7.3, and 7.2.
