I have been setting up an LDAP server so I can access my addressbook
from home, or work, or anywhere else with access to a computer. I should
be able to get it working easily enough (except I don't think evolution
will let me update entries on the server), but I also want to be able to
share my bookmarks and calendar entries as well.
I remember Jeff Waugh sending a more detailed message a month ago to
gnome-hackers wanting to see the same sort of thing implemented in Gnome
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-hackers/2003-January/msg00005.html
I agree that a common data model shared among desktop applications would
lead to a more integrated desktop and make synchronisation between
machines simpler. I didn't see any real discussion on this topic and was
wondering if anything is being done or if anyone knows of anything
similar done by other projects? I thought this was the sort of thing
KDE's Kroupware project was working on so this could be another area for
cooperation between the two projects.
