2.6.0 'you're kidding, that crap is still in our code?' bugs

It's that time of the moon again where I nag about the worst bugs still
in the release. If there are other brown-paper bag bugs you know about,
now is the time to speak up! Let me or the list now, or add TARGET2.6.0
keywords.

A number of nasties have been fixed, but many are still here... please,
please take a look at these, everyone, and see what you can do to pitch
in and make sure 2.6.0 is a great release.
