Elijah:
I made a new release of gnome-mag (0.12.2) for GNOME 2.12.1 with an
important bugfix. Looks like I thought Tuesday was Monday, sorry about
that. Is there any way we can pull this into 2.12.1 now?
Unless you feel differently, I retract this suggestion. It doesn't seem
to me like a good idea to set precedent of changing/respinning a release
for something that's not a real "stopper".
We talked about this briefly, and I agree with Elijah that we have to be
adamant when it comes to the deadlines or maintainers will never learn
to make tarballs in time for the release. I've learnt since none of my
modules got released in time for 2.12.1 :-)
Yes, I agree. That's why I 'retracted' the suggestion.
Bill
I know I've been a bit less stringent in the past since I've done the
stable releases more or less when I've had time myself, but if we are to
be able to spread the load of making a release and get the community to
test the "final" release we have to draw the line at some point.
2.12.2 will have to do. I hate these off-by-one errors ;-)
It's not that far off and distros can always pick up the tarballs of any
single modules that have important fixes in them.
Cheers
Kjartan
