Problem's with CVS access

I've problems with access to cvs.
If I use anonymous account , cvs server return the following error:

cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@anoncvs.gnome.org:/cvs/gnome co nautilus
cvs server: cannot open /root/.cvsignore: Permission denied
cvs [server aborted]: can't chdir(/root): Permission denied

There is no trouble working with my personal account.

Can any one correct this?
