If you're the only user of the computer, doing a
echo export LANG=jp >>~/.profile
(you can run this from terminal, or with the "Run" command from either
KDE or GNOME menus).
After that, do a
echo export LANGUAGE=jp:fr >>~/.profile
jp should be the ISO 639 code for Japanese language.
If you want to set the language system-wide, edit /etc/profile as
*root*!!! It's wrong to change the permissions on the file, since it ca
introduce a security risk.
And by the way, it's a fault on the Mandrake side not to have this set
up by itself (if it already offers the choice of language).
