There has recently been yet another unannounced string freeze breakage
in the gdm2 HEAD branch:
This seems to be the commit in gui/gdmlanguages.c that caused the string
addition:

revision 1.25

*** empty log message ***

Communication with (other) translators regarding string changes at
supposedly stable times is very important. We're way past doing any
unannounced changes to messages in 2.2 code, even if it should be about
adding language support. It's not hard to send a mail to
gnome-i18n@gnome.org warning translators about a message addition;
please spend a few seconds doing so after doing such message additions
or changes to string-frozen stable code.
This should be even more obvious to everyone since the exact same thing
happened less than a week ago
(http://lists.gnome.org/archives/gnome-i18n/2003-February/msg00138.html), so this shouldn't be news to anyone.
Translators, please realize that if you don't respect string freeze
yourselves, there's little incentive for other developers to do the
same. String freezes have been created to help translators, and breaking
them as a translator means not only ruining for other translators, but
also shooting yourself in the foot.
