There has been an unannounced string freeze breakage in the
gnome-applets HEAD branch.
This seems to be the commit in
stickynotes/stickynotes_applet_callbacks.c that caused the
unannounced string addition:
----------------------------
1.40 <loban> 2003-09-04 17:54
Used the egg_* functions so that help actually gets displayed. Also
made it so that the prefs dialog appears in the same desktop that
the applet itself is in. Applied Muktha's patch to fix bug #121433,
----------------------------
This is the change:
http://cvs.gnome.org/bonsai/cvsview2.cgi?diff_mode=context&whitespace_mode=show&root=/cvs/gnome&subdir=gnome-applets/stickynotes&command=DIFF_FRAMESET&file=stickynotes_applet_callbacks.c&rev2=1.40&rev1=1.39
Communication with translators regarding string changes at supposedly
frozen times is very important. However, this looks like an accident.
The added messages are:
"There was an error displaying help : %s"
Had these messages been properly checked, they should have been made
identical to the already existing message, for which there are
translations:
"There was an error displaying help: %s"
Please be more careful with checking the messages.
Christian
