Ok, that wasn't at all clear -- please always give complete patches;
it's hard to give a definite opinion on an unfinished pseudopatch with
some loose comments attributed to it.

If removing the dialog altogether is an option, as your first mail
indicated, I'd myself say that's the best way to go, as it won't affect
the current string freeze. Then you have plenty of time to revisit the
issue and reconsider the dialog once you have created a gnome-2-6 branch
and are no longer affected by the freezes in HEAD.
So I vote for removing the dialog, if it is a suitable option.
