Maybe, someone more knowledgeable than me can explain why this is a
requirement, but I suggest these strings should be changed to be plain
ascii.
I assume this relates to a recent bug <URL:
http://bugs.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142186> in bugzilla. In there it
was suggested to use UTF-8 characters, maybe it will contain the
infrmation needed?
