Actually, the embarrassing truth is that I've been avoiding the GIMP  
for ages, and my co-ordinator finally reminded me to get started on  
it. <blush>

Does this ruin my image? :D

There's another string that ends in "mod" further on, so it may well  
be deliberate. Sven's post is very enlightening, so I have something  
useful to do about this.
