True. This is my overall opinion, too.

Also, half the time in KDE, I don't even know to which applications  
the files belong. That makes it extremely difficult to report typos  
against them (as does the five-page bug-reporting "wizard" that wants  
my name, serial number and favourite type of noodles before I can  
report simple typos).

Yes, this is the part that I also think could be useful. I gather it  
didn't happen...
