O/H Reinout van Schouwen ÎÎÏÎÏÎ:
Hi,
Epiphany has a couple of longstanding bugs in some translations, that have
not been addressed despite repeated requests from the developer team. The
bugs are related to the fact that translation context, indicated with a
pipe symbol in the msgstr, is translated verbatim. The comment for each of
those strings in the .po file explicitly says not to do this, it leads to
an illogical UI.
The tracker bug for these bugs is
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=313451
Could the responsible people in the Indonesian, Nepali, Russian and Malay
teams please have a look at this? Thanks a lot! :-)
It is possible in some of the cases the contacts at
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=l10n
are not properly updated.
I think that for these l10n bugs that affect the stability of the
application, it would be ok to blank out those offending messages.
You can provide a URL to cvs.gnome.org that shows in a diff those
changes, so translators can pick up the work.
What do you [all] think about that?
Simos
