Translating non-gettext manuals

Hi all,

I wonder if there are any information somewhere describing how you do
when translating manuals who are in XML/OMF format (not gnome-docs/gettext).

If I run..

cd docs
mkdir sv
xml2po C/file.xml >sv/file.po
(translate the PO file)
po2xml C/file.xml sv/file.po >sv/file.xml

When I try this with (for example) F-Spot it works so far.
How do I create the required OMF file? I searched for Scrollkeeper
documentation but didn't find any non-developer stuff.
