Usage of gtk-engines

Hallo list

Can somebody tell me where the translations of gtk-engings are used? It
has a few bizarre strings, like
"Size of check- and radiobuttons inside treeviews. (Bug #351764)"

I couldn't even find where this is displayed, so it looks like a waste
of time to translate, but it is listed under the desktop section for
2.28.

Any insight into this?
