I'm not requesting account but approval from a member of the
Translation Project Coordination Team.
But I may have overlooked something...

If you are not requesting anything, you do not need any approval from the Coordination Team.

If you want a Git account, you should carefully follow the instructions for requesting an Git account, and formally request an account, and provide all relevant details. The instructions are at http://live.gnome.org/TranslationProject/RequestingAnAccount. You will then be informed if your account request was approved or not.
