This is supposed to work based on content negociation (e.g.

I just checked the server configuration and I believe it has has
proper lines:
  AddLanguage pt-br .pt_BR
  AddLanguage pt_BR .pt_BR

Well, just for the record, I made sure the translated images' md5sums are correct in the PO file, and I also checked local compilation of this module. It should be working fine.
