First, apologies if this email is slightly off topic, I figured you
all would be the best people to ask for help. GNOME Software >= 3.20
allows people to write an end-user review of specific apps so other
users can better choose the correct application to install. So far
we've had loads of great reviews from hundreds of people, but the
majority are just in English, en_GB, en_US and en_IN etc. A lot of
users in other locales are writing reviews in English too, which
doesn't help. I'm trying to work on an algorithm for choosing which
reviews to show (falling back in the best way possible, e.g.
app-version, country, lang, distro-version, etc) but I need a lot more
reviews from users in other languages for the algorithm to do sensible
things.
If you've got a spare minute or two, I'd really appreciate it if you
could write a review in your native language for apps you either love
or hate. Even having a couple of reviews in each language for just the
core GNOME apps would be awesome and would look great in the 3.22
release notes.
To do this task you just need gnome-software 3.20 or newer on any
distribution *except* Ubuntu (which uses a different review system).
If you're feeling super kind you could also help with the moderator
queue using "gnome-software --mode=moderate" although at the moment it
just returns all reviews for all languages, not just a specific
locale.
Thanks,
Richard.
