I see. Though I still don't see the semantic. I thought ○ was the "on" switch actually (it looks "open" to me, unlike ❙which looks "closed"). Does it come from some specific field where these symbols are used like this? Maybe in electronics (most likely place to have switches)?

Then why not provide the ❙ and ○ characters for translation?
