After building gnome-libs, there should be a shell script called
gnome-config in the top gnome-libs directory. It should be installed
executable in your chosen path. If that doesn't happen, something
is wrong. This has nothing to do with libgnome/gnome-config.[ch].

Imlib is even funnier, it has one imlib-config and one imlib_config,
which are completely different things. :-)

It's not at all redhat-specific. Lots of people run it successfully
on Debian systems, including me. I have no idea about SuSE, though.
