Problem accessing CVS archive

I am trying to access the CVS archive for the first time. I keep
getting a Connection timedout error. My CVSROOT environment
variable is set to :pserver:anonymous@anoncvs.gnome.org:/cvs/gnome.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
