Panel Launcher saving problems

I have a problem with the panel and using the launcher buttons;  It
fills in the "Command" field with forward slashes (/).  Sometimes.  To
reproduce the problem, it should be enough to create a new launcher,
and in the "Command" field type:

xterm -title "Local Top" -e top

If I save that, then quit and restart the panel, more often than not
it fills the spaces in that field with /s.  

E.g.

xterm/////////// -title//// "Local/////Top" -e////top
