I am trying to install gnome-libs.
I've been at it for 4 days now with no success. Here's the vitals:
glib-1.1.3
gtk-1.1.4
ORBit -SNAP-981124 from ftp.jimpick.com
Esound, imlib-1.8.1, guile-1.2, ImageMagick-4.05, are all installed
using egcs-1.1b
I have been following install instructions from www.gnome.org. All
requisite packages are installed.
Here's the exact error I get when running make (yes, it's GNU make)
/usr/X11/lib/libXmu.so: undefined reference to 'XShapeCombineMask'
make[2]: ***[gnome-moz-remote] Error 1
make[2]:" Leaving directory 'home/limo/gnome-libs/libgnome'
make[1]: [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory 'home/limo/gnome-libs'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2
I do have the current X libraries installed & in my path. Also, prior to
configuration I run export LDFLAGS="-L/usr/X11/lib"
then ldconfig, which incidentaly I have run after each library install
along the way. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Steven
