I will concede that having cond statements in your config file might
come in handy, but would that only be for generic config files where you
don't know bits of information.

for the most part, it seems we're talking about state data written out
be the apps and the read back in by the apps.  Although, I do think they
should be "edible" by humans.

I guess it some ways this really doesn't matter very much as long as the
API is written to hide this type of stuff.

ACAP does look interesting as a plug-in remote config method.
