Problem with panel

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Upon running panel, I receive the following error message (over and over
and over):

Native PNG Loader
libpng error: Incompatible libpng version in application and library
Failed! Fallback!
Convert Loader via Image Magick
sh:
/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/openwin/bin:/usr/local/openwin/bin:/usr/local/X11/bin:/usr/X11/bin:/usr/X11R6/convert:
No such file or directory
Failed! Fallback To NetPBM!
/usr/bin/anytopnm: unknown file type
ImLib ERROR: Cannot load image: /usr/local/share/pixmaps/emacs.png
All fallbacks failed.

Obviously, the problem is with libpng. ldd yields the following output:

[aaron@spire]
 ... ~$ > ldd /usr/local/bin/panel | grep png
        libpng.so.2 => /usr/lib/libpng.so.2 (0x402e1000)
        libpng.so.0 => /usr/lib/libpng.so.0 (0x405ad000)

Now. I have libpng.so.2 and libpng.so.0 linked to the same binary -- of
course that would confuse the program a bit. How is it that I can force a
link only to the more recent library?
	Which packages will I need to recompile? I have done:

gtk+
mico
imlib
gnome-libs
gnome-objc
gnome-guile
gnome-core

I am running debian 2.0pre, on an i486 100.
Thanks in advance!
