Hi,
Just trying v0.20, have installed all the RPMS, have deleted the
old libraries / old programs, re-installed etc. ad-nauseum.
Anyway, the first thing was that no programs ( eg. panel ) work,
with the above message. So, checking glib :
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 55224 Jun 5 20:20 libglib.so.1.0.4
Which when strung, reveals :
g_strcasecmp
strcasecmp
g_strdelimit
g_parse_debug_string
g_direct_hash
So its there alright.
Hmm, anyway then I went on to force install the support directory
as it kept moaning that :
$ rpm --force -U libjpeg-*
failed dependencies:
libjpeg.so.62 is needed by gnome-admin-0.20-1
libjpeg.so.62 is needed by gnome-core-0.20-1
libjpeg.so.62 is needed by gnome-games-0.20-1
libjpeg.so.62 is needed by gnome-graphics-0.20-1
libjpeg.so.62 is needed by gnome-guile-0.20-1
libjpeg.so.62 is needed by gnome-libs-0.20-1
libjpeg.so.62 is needed by gnome-media-0.20-1
libjpeg.so.62 is needed by gnome-objc-0.20-1
libjpeg.so.62 is needed by gnome-utils-0.20-1
libjpeg.so.62 is needed by imlib-1.4-1
Strangely :-) After installing this lot, I get the great message :
panel: error in loading shared libraries
libjpeg.so.62: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Not totaly unexpected anyway (groan).
Re-installs jpeg rpms from redhat-5.0, 5.1 to no avail whatsoever.
Sobs bitterly and wanders off stage left.
Strange, 119980528 worked just fine ... back to that :
rpm --force --nodeps --allfiles -i *.rpm
All seems to work again ...
Can anyone help ?
Michael Meeks.
