gtk question

sorry if this is better suited to the gtk list, but i'm /really/ not in
the mood to subscribe

i've created a file open dialog box using
gtk_file_selection_new, and i'd like to have the directory
lising show only files with a .cdb extention (*.cdb).

if i use gtk_file_selection_set_filename(), it simply sets the default
text in the entry dialog box. how can i get it to work?!@
