Greetings,
I'm trying to compile 0.20 and am having some difficulty, so figured I'd
try the mailing list. My problem concerns primarily i18n support, I
think.
Here's my deal: I have an old slackware system that's been running fine
but it is starting to suffer from the "it's not NT" syndrome. In
response, I'm trying to install GNOME (I've seen KDE).
I downloaded and compiled egcs 1.0.3a, and installed it in place of gcc
2.7.2.1; I used this to compile mico 2.0.5 (2.0.8 didn't work at all) that
I downloaded from the "extras" directory. All these programs compiled and
installed without incident. So I proceeded on...
I was able to compile and install the following components:
games
graphics
lib
objc
utils
However, the following give these errors:
core: ld: GtkDispatcher::GtkDispatcher(void): undefined reference
guile:
mc:
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so: undefined reference to `dgettext`
admin:
(A bunch of errors in "ping.c")
I've downloaded and installed dejagnu in this process, as well as gettext
version 0.10 (is that right?). 'dgettext' seems to exist in
/usr/lib/libintl.a, so I'm at a loss as to what the problwm is with this.
At the moment, I'm recompiling the "lib" directory to ensure it is using
the latest libintl.
I am at a total loss as to the other errors, though.
Are these known problems, and are there any workarounds to get me up and
running? There was also an error in gdiskfree or something, but I just
edited that out of the Makefile to get it to finish.
Thanks for any help,
