I've tried compiling the CVS gnome for three days (with daily updates); I
keep getting the same problem trying to configure gnome-libs:
While running autogen.sh
You should add the contents of `/usr/share/aclocal/libtool.m4' to
`aclocal.m4'.
aclocal: configure.in: 41: macro `AM_PATH_GTK' not found in library
While trying to run configure
./configure: line 1741: syntax error near unexpected token
`AM_PATH_GTK(0.99.5,,{'
./configure: line 1741: ` AM_PATH_GTK(0.99.5,,{ echo "configure:
error: GTK not installed" 1>&2; exit 1; })'
Yes, I have read the HACKING file, and I didn't forget to
cvsroot/gnome# aclocal -I macros; automake; autoconf
cvsroot/gnome# cd libgtktty; aclocal; automake; autoconf; cd ..
Another possibly related problem:
Even after a "cat /usr/share/aclocal/libtool.m4 >>aclocal.m4", I keep
getting the "You should add the contents of..." message.
Any clues? (I'm using Linux 2.1.91, glibc 2.0.7, autoconf 2.12, automake
1.2f, libtool 1.2)
