I know libgmodule is part of glib but look at the output of rpm -ql
glib-1.1.3-1:

/usr/doc/glib-1.1.3
/usr/doc/glib-1.1.3/AUTHORS
/usr/doc/glib-1.1.3/COPYING
/usr/doc/glib-1.1.3/ChangeLog
/usr/doc/glib-1.1.3/NEWS
/usr/doc/glib-1.1.3/README
/usr/lib/libglib-1.1.so.3
/usr/lib/libglib-1.1.so.3.0.0

Looks like someone left a line like this: 

%{prefix}/lib/libgmodule-1.1.so.*

out of the %files section of the glib RPM SPEC.

This might explain why gimp 1.1 has stoped working for me and other
people have had problems.
