Undefined references in gnome-libs 0.30.1

    When I try to compile gnome-libs 0.30.1 (from the TARed sources) it
gives me 2 undefined references along make. These undefed refs are in the
libs in the gtk-xml subdir and they are to "compress" and "uncompress".

    I've a Redhat 5.0 system and I instaled all the rpms and compiled all
the tars recomendend int gnome's HP.

    Anyone knows how to fix/solve this?
