gnome-objc is a totally optional add-on, it is not an official part of
Gnome. In fact I haven't built it in months and I have a complete Gnome
setup and do Gnome development. It is legitimate for C++ and Obj-C code to
require egcs, because gcc 2.7 is broken for those languages. However, all
core code is in C.

Please give specifics on what requires egcs on your home box, and we will
fix it. Even better, get over your "no interest" and try it on Solaris and
report back. We do not have Solaris, and Solaris support will only happen
if Solaris users help. If you aren't going to be part of the solution
though, please don't post about it.
