Re: muliple screens with gnome



I don't know if gnome-session can handle this properly, but you can
probably get the desired effect by starting extra panel's for each extra
screen.  GDK doesn't handle multiple displays currently, so you would need
multiple panel processes.  For this to work correctly, the panel would
have to tell the session manager to start panel with the --display
argument, and there is currently no way to do this properly.

So the answer is yes it is possible to use multiple screens, but it would
be difficult to get it to work with session management currently.
Consider submitting a wishlist priority bug to submit@bugs.gnome.org
(package would be gnome-core) about this to leave a formal record of this
problem.
