ESD & multiple soundcards

I recently aquired a new soundcard from a friend (an AWE32) to replace my old
SB32pnp. I was just wondering if I could plug the old one into a free ISA slot
and let ESD play samples through whichever card was "free".
I know i can have multiple cards installed and recognised, but will it be any
use?
