With the .xinitrc file you quote, gnome-session will not execute until
enlightenment has exited (probably not what you want). If you want to run
multiple applications in your .xinitrc, all except the last should be in
the background (append a &).
In this case though, you should not even need to run enligthenment, as it
should be run by gnome-session itself.
